ESPHome 2026.7.2 released on 23-07-2026

ESPHome 2026.7.2 is out now. It delivers several dependency updates and targeted fixes that improve build compatibility, sensor detection and partial-screen updates for devices compiled with ESPHome.
Check the ESPHome GitHub release page and the linked pull requests for full details, configuration notes and upgrade instructions.
What’s in this release
- Bundled dependency bumps: aioesphomeapi updated from 45.6.2 to 45.7.0, sendspin-cpp bumped to v0.7.0, and the bundled esphome-device-builder updated to 1.6.9 — compatibility and maintenance updates for core tooling.
- sen5x: new model option to override automatic model detection, allowing manual selection in YAML where autodetection fails or hardware is nonstandard.
- mipi_spi: fixed a partial update bug so partial screen updates behave correctly; bundle: absolute file paths are remapped when compiling an extracted bundle to avoid build issues and leaking host paths.
Upgrade notes
- No breaking changes are listed in the release notes, but remapping of absolute file paths may affect workflows that extract and compile bundles—review any build scripts that rely on original host paths.
- If you encounter regressions after upgrading, revert to your previous ESPHome installation until the issue is resolved and report details on the project tracker.
