Flux | v2.9.2

Flux v2.9.2 released on 13-07-2026

Flux v2.9.2 is out now. It restores Kustomizations whose openapi.path points to a URL and corrects several CRD field descriptions, so clusters affected by the v2.9.1 regression should upgrade.

See the full changelog on the Flux GitHub (compare v2.9.1…v2.9.2) and follow the Upgrade Procedure for Flux v2.7+ for detailed upgrade guidance.

What’s in this release

  • Fix for a regression where a Kustomization with openapi.path pointing to a URL failed to reconcile with “failed to read OpenAPI schema” (kustomize-controller).
  • Corrections to CRD field descriptions: HelmChart.status.url now points to HelmChartStatus.Artifact, ImageRepository.status.observedExclusionList refers to status.lastScanResult, and ImageUpdateAutomation.status.observedSourceRevision no longer contains a stray Go struct declaration.
  • Dependency and CLI updates to fluxcd/pkg plus component updates bundled with v2.9.2 (source-controller v1.9.3, kustomize-controller v1.9.3, helm-controller v1.6.2, notification-controller v1.9.2, image-reflector-controller v1.2.3, image-automation-controller v1.2.3, source-watcher v2.2.2).

Upgrade notes

  • No breaking changes are listed for v2.9.2; follow the “Upgrade Procedure for Flux v2.7+” when moving from v2.6 or earlier (link available in the project changelog).
  • If you need to revert, use your normal rollback process for Flux components and consult the component changelogs linked from the release compare page for any component-specific notes.

Share any comments or issues you encounter while upgrading to v2.9.2 — community feedback helps catch edge cases and improves the next release.
