Flux | v2.9.3

Flux v2.9.3 released on 23-07-2026

Flux v2.9.3 is out now. It fixes Helm chart manifest rendering (preserving empty lines), corrects Helm release test-status edge cases, and resolves a kustomize image-field merge bug that could produce untagged images.

For details see the full changelog on the Flux GitHub and follow the Upgrade Procedure for Flux v2.7+ when upgrading from v2.6: https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/compare/v2.9.2…v2.9.3 and https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/discussions/5572

What’s in this release

  • Fix empty lines vanishing from rendered Helm chart manifests (helm-controller)
  • Fix HasBeenTested handling so releases are not marked as tested when Helm test hooks never ran (helm-controller)
  • Fix spec.images merge bug that could discard existing image fields and produce untagged or incomplete image references (kustomize-controller and flux CLI build|diff kustomization)

Upgrade notes

  • Follow the Upgrade Procedure for Flux v2.7+ when moving from v2.6: https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/discussions/5572
  • If you need to compare or revert, the previous release is v2.9.2; consult the full changelog: https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/compare/v2.9.2…v2.9.3
