Flux | v2.9.3

Flux v2.9.3 released on 23-07-2026

Flux v2.9.3 is out now. It fixes correctness bugs across controllers and the CLI — notably rendering and image-mapping issues and a Helm test-state bug that affected test reporting.

Consult the Flux GitHub for the full changelog and upgrade guidance: https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/compare/v2.9.2…v2.9.3

What’s in this release

  • Helm controller: fixed empty lines vanishing from rendered chart manifests and a corner case where a HelmRelease could be marked as tested though its Helm test hooks never ran (helm-controller v1.6.3).
  • Kustomize controller and flux CLI: fixed spec.images handling where entries that set only some image fields could discard remaining fields and produce untagged image references (kustomize-controller v1.9.4; affects flux build|diff kustomization).
  • CLI and OCI artifacts: the flux CLI build now includes source-watcher in the OCI flux-manifests artifact, and internal fluxcd/pkg dependencies were updated.

Upgrade notes

  • Follow the Upgrade Procedure for Flux v2.7+ for a smooth upgrade from v2.6: https://github.com/fluxcd/flux2/discussions/5572
  • If you need to revert, the prior release is v2.9.2 — roll back using your normal upgrade/rollback process and consult the changelog linked above.

Share your experience or any regressions on the Flux GitHub issues or discussions — and let others know how the upgrade went.
