HomeAssistant Core 2026.5.1 released on 08-05-2026

HomeAssistant Core 2026.5.1 is out now. It adds wfsens as an occupancy source for WiZ devices and fixes WiZ UDP connection timeouts, applies multiple Overkiz cover and sensor fixes with a pyOverkiz 1.20.3 bump, and includes dependency and Z‑Wave/ZHA stability updates to improve discovery and reliability.
See the GitHub release notes or the relevant integration documentation for the full list of changes and links to individual fixes before upgrading.
What’s in this release
- WiZ: added wfsens as an occupancy source and fixed WiZ light config flow timeouts by properly closing UDP connections to avoid hanging setup flows.
- Overkiz: corrected is_closed handling for DynamicGarageDoor and DynamicGate, set is_closed to None when state is “unknown”, fixed tilt and cover controls for several venetian and pergola types, corrected sensor units from MeasuredValueType, and bumped pyOverkiz to 1.20.3.
- Dependencies and stability: multiple upstream library bumps (gardena_bluetooth, serialx, holidays, pyTibber, axis, deebot-client, python-bsblan, blebox_uniapi, ZHA 1.3.1, etc.), plus fixes for a Z-Wave discovery crash caused by unknown node firmware and an axis websocket certificate verification issue.
