n8n n8n@2.36.9 released on 31-08-2026

n8n n8n@2.36.9 is out now. It fixes a bug so proxy environment variables (HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY, NO_PROXY) are applied consistently across the main process, internal packages and any spawned child processes, preventing intermittent outbound connectivity for users behind corporate or network proxies.

Visit the n8n GitHub release for full details and the upgrade instructions, including the linked issue (#37258) and commit a3e3b6a.

What’s in this release

  • Core bugfix: apply proxy environment variables consistently across packages and processes (see issue #37258, commit a3e3b6a).
  • Improved outbound network reliability for workflows and nodes that make HTTP requests when running behind an HTTP/HTTPS proxy.
  • Single-change release — only this bugfix is included; there are no breaking changes.

Upgrade notes

  • No breaking changes. Update to n8n@2.36.9 by pulling the 2.36.9 image or npm package and restarting n8n; ensure proxy environment variables are set on the service/pod/container before starting so they propagate to child processes (for Kubernetes update Deployment/Pod env entries and roll pods; for Docker restart containers after setting env vars).
  • No configuration changes inside n8n are required. If problems persist, capture logs and the environment values used (redact secrets), run a workflow that makes outbound HTTP requests through your proxy to verify, and open an issue referencing #37258.

Share comments on your experience with the update on the n8n GitHub or in the project’s issue tracker.
