n8n n8n@2.37.9 released on 03-09-2026

n8n@2.37.9 is out now. It restores support for mutating array methods on $json in expressions, so workflows that rely on in-expression array mutations should resume working.
Visit the project’s GitHub release page for full details and the compare links; users experiencing expression-related issues should upgrade and restart n8n.
What’s in this release
- Restores mutating array methods (push, pop, splice and similar) on $json data used inside expressions — a regression had broken these operations.
- The fix is implemented in commit 336c081 and addresses issue #37727.
- Behaviour for expressions that perform in-place array mutations (affecting data transformations, dynamic list updates and custom expression logic) is returned to its previous state.
Upgrade notes
- No breaking API changes in this bug-fix release; upgrade to n8n@2.37.9 and restart n8n to apply the fix.
- No special rollback steps are documented for this release; use your normal rollback procedure if you need to revert.
Share any experience or remaining issues on the n8n GitHub or community channels so others know whether the fix restored their workflows.
