n8n n8n@2.40.5 released on 21-09-2026

n8n n8n@2.40.5 is out now. It limits declarative routing during base URL ownership checks to prevent routing and ownership-check interference for deployments that use webhooks, custom domains or multi-instance setups.
See the GitHub compare for the full change and technical notes: https://github.com/n8n-io/n8n/compare/n8n@2.40.4…n8n@2.40.5
What’s in this release
- Bug fix: limit declarative routing during base URL ownership checks (issue #39147, commit ebe5a73).
- The change prevents incorrect ownership evaluations and misrouted requests when validating a base URL used for webhooks, custom domains and multi-instance checks.
- Affects setups running custom declarative routing or hosting multiple domains; those users should apply the patch to avoid ownership-check-related routing issues.
Upgrade notes
- No database migrations or breaking changes are expected; apply the usual patch update (Docker image tag n8nio/n8n:n8n@2.40.5 or equivalent) and verify webhook and domain validations in a staging environment.
- If you encounter unexpected behaviour, roll back to the previous tag for your deployment method.
