Nextcloud v35.0.1 released on 24-09-2026

Nextcloud v35.0.1 is out now. It is a hotfix that closes multiple security issues discovered after the v35 rollout and addresses a range of file-handling, sharing and stability problems that can affect exposed installs and syncing clients.

Administrators are advised to upgrade promptly; see the GitHub release notes for the full details and downloads: Nextcloud v35.0.1 release.

What’s in this release

  • Security fixes for several access-control and information-disclosure vectors discovered after the v35 rollout.
  • File handling and sharing bug fixes — improved chunked uploads and file locking, fixes for failed deletes, stale quota reporting, federated shares and public link behaviour, plus WebDAV/remote sync fixes for desktop and mobile clients.
  • Performance and reliability improvements — optimisations to expensive database queries, reduced memory spikes, fixes to background/cron job execution and improved caching/locking to lower contention on busy systems.

Upgrade notes

  • Upgrade urgently: put instances into maintenance mode during the upgrade, take a full backup (files + DB + config), run the regular occ upgrade steps and then run background jobs; afterwards verify third‑party apps and external storage plugins and check logs for unexpected access errors.
  • If a rollback is required, restore the full backup (files + DB + config) taken before upgrading so the instance can be returned to its prior state.

Share any upgrade notes or issues you encounter — details help other administrators spot compatibility problems or post‑upgrade quirks.
