OTel Collector | v0.160.0

OTel Collector v0.160.0 released on 02-09-2026

OTel Collector v0.160.0 is out now. Operators and maintainers should review updated component versions, a Docker base-image digest refresh and a CI fix that reduces false negatives on Windows CI.

Check the project release pages for downloads and full details: the contrib changelog and the core changelog cover component-level changes, compatibility notes and migration guidance.

What’s in this release

  • Version bumped to 0.160.0 (update commit / PR #1635).
  • OpenTelemetry Collector components refreshed or adjusted for v0.160.0 (PR #1632) — see the core and contrib changelogs for per-component notes.
  • Container base image digest updated: golang:1.27-alpine3.23 Docker digest set to d9e2f2f (PR #1631).
  • CI stability fix for Windows docker-tests so collector stderr output no longer causes failures (PR #1634).

Upgrade notes

  • No breaking changes are called out in the summary; review the contrib changelog and the core changelog for component-level compatibility notes and migration guidance.
  • If you need to roll back, return to your previously pinned Collector version and any previously pinned container images; consult the release metadata for exact digests.

Share comments on your experience upgrading or on the CI and image changes via the project’s GitHub discussions or issue tracker.
