paperless-ngx v3.0.4 is out now. It fixes viewer and preview behaviour, improves OCR and the LLM indexing toolchain, corrects permission and filtering issues, and includes performance and dependency maintenance to improve stability and document navigation.

What’s in this release
- Viewer and preview fixes — stop PDF.js text highlighting from scrolling the entire page, ensure the preview pane reloads on live changes, and preserve search filters when closing a document with Escape.
- OCR and LLM indexing improvements — don’t skip OCR/archive for tagged PDFs with no embedded text, prefetch notes and custom fields for LLM index text, scope index updates to only actually modified documents, and pass the configured LLM output language into chat.
- Permissions, filtering and integrity work plus maintenance — dedupe permission-visible documents with combined multi-tag filters, clamp out-of-range possible-field values, guard against stale foreign keys from deleted correspondents or document types, improve diacritic normalisation for dropdown filtering, and resolve npm provenance issues.
