paperless-ngx | v3.0.5

paperless-ngx v3.0.5 released on 01-08-2026

paperless-ngx v3.0.5 is out now. Users who search, use AI suggestions or rely on the web UI will see more reliable behaviour.

See the project’s GitHub release page for full notes and downloads.

What’s in this release

  • Search improvements: the query parser now accepts Whoosh-era abbreviated relative-date units (yrs, mos, wks, etc), relative date-range filters correctly exclude next-period starts, and Enter selection in search autocomplete has been fixed for more reliable query entry.
  • AI and indexing fixes: AI suggestion caching is now keyed by model and endpoint to avoid cross-talk, empty or missing suggestion fields are handled better, and LLM index updating was optimised with server-side iterators and sqlite-vec point-delete for improved update performance.
  • Frontend, data and backend robustness: a range of UI fixes (edit-dialog change detection, delayed-add for custom fields, attributes collapse controls, document toolbar flow and pngx PDF viewer loop) plus data/import fixes (bulk custom-field validation, monetary decimal normalisation, born-digital PDF detection consolidation and MariaDB import error avoidance).

Upgrade notes

  • No breaking changes are listed; review the GitHub release notes for the dependency bump (pymdown-extensions to 11.0) and any database-related fixes that may affect your deployment.
  • Rollback: there are no special rollback steps documented — restore your previous deployment or snapshot if you need to revert.

Report any issues or share how the update performs for you on the project’s GitHub issues page or community channels.
