paperless-ngx | v3.1.3

paperless-ngx v3.1.3 released on 04-09-2026

paperless-ngx v3.1.3 is out now. It delivers user-facing UI and frontend polish, fixes to AI/chat behaviour, improved ingestion and task reliability, and a set of dependency and security hardening changes.

See the project on GitHub for the full release notes and upgrade instructions.

What’s in this release

  • UI and frontend polish: tasks page now uses the header loading indicator; sidebar size animation and slim-sidebar saved-view dragging fixes; long words in dropdowns are wrapped; CSS cleanup and tweaks to the tool-localisation prompt.
  • AI and chat behaviour: ensure “apply AI suggestions” always runs after a document is created; skip the vector store document-id filter for unrestricted chat users so chat access behaves correctly for non-restricted users.
  • Ingestion, conversion and reliability fixes plus dependency and security updates: better handling of failures when enqueuing files, fixes for Celery mail task chord errors, refactors to reduce signal-backed conversion technical debt, adoption of the request stream when pinning an outbound host, multiple dependency bumps, validation of remote OCR endpoints and consolidation of pickle HMAC signing.

Upgrade notes

  • No breaking changes are listed in the release notes; review the security hardening (for example remote OCR endpoint validation) and test configurations and AI/chat behaviour in a staging environment before deploying.
  • If you encounter problems, roll back to your previous deployment or image and file an issue on the project’s GitHub so maintainers can investigate.
