Prometheus v3.8.0 is out now. Users will benefit from the stabilization of Native Histograms and various enhancements to the user interface and PromQL functionalities.

What’s in this release

  • Native histograms are now a stable, but optional feature, activated via the `scrape_native_histogram` config setting.
  • Support for OAuth2 jwt-bearer grant-type has been added.
  • Unified AWS service discovery for EC2, Lightsail, and ECS services is now available.

Upgrade notes

  • Ensure the `scrape_native_histogram` setting is configured to `true` if transitioning to Native Histograms.
  • It is advisable to keep the feature flag during the upgrade to maintain functionality.
