Telegraf v1.40.1 released on 21-09-2026
Telegraf v1.40.1 is out now. It delivers a range of correctness and stability fixes across aggregators, input plugins (Kinesis, OPC UA, Vault, OpenTelemetry, DNS), outputs (AMQP, Kafka, Parquet) and processors such as reverse_dns.

What’s in this release
- aggregators: prevention of duplicate pushes on early timer fires
- common.socket: parse vsock CID and port from URL host
- outputs.parquet: let a field take precedence over a tag and rotate files by open-file age
Upgrade notes
- Test integrations after several dependency bumps — check telemetry, cloud SDKs, database drivers and gRPC for compatibility, and validate reconnection/timeouts or file-rotation behaviour (Kafka timeouts, AMQP reconnection, Parquet rotation by age).
- If you need to roll back, install the previous release package for your platform and verify the SHA256 checksum from the package listings before redeploying.
