paperless-ngx v3.0.5 released on 01-08-2026
paperless-ngx v3.0.5 is out now. It restores expected search parsing and interaction, polishes several frontend and viewer behaviours, and tightens AI suggestion and bulk-edit handling to reduce incorrect suggestions and invalid edits.
See the release notes on the project’s GitHub for full details and links to the changes and documentation.
What’s in this release
- Search fixes: accepts Whoosh-era abbreviated relative-date units (yrs, mos, wks, etc.), excludes next-period starts from relative date-range filters and fixes Enter selection in search autocomplete.
- Frontend and viewer polish: corrected edit-dialog change detection, fixed delayed add-button behaviour for custom fields, adjusted document-details toolbar flow, folded overflowing path text in the sanity checker and prevented a scale-vs-page loop in the pngx PDF viewer.
- AI suggestions and bulk edits: AI suggestion cache is keyed by model and endpoint to avoid cross-contamination, empty or absent AI-suggested fields are handled more gracefully, and custom field values are validated during bulk operations.
Upgrade notes
- No breaking changes are listed in the release notes; check the updated documentation for configuration clarifications such as PAPERLESS_CONSUMER_IGNORE_PATTERNS and the Password Removal workflow action.
- Back up your database and document store before upgrading. Restore those backups if you need to roll back.
