paperless-ngx v3.4.2 released on 03-11-2026

paperless-ngx v3.4.2 is out now. Mobile users and document managers will see UI fixes and stability updates that reduce workflow interruptions and improve layout and usability.
Visit the project’s GitHub releases page for the full changelog and upgrade instructions.
What’s in this release
- Mobile and document-detail UI fixes: resolves a mobile save-button display issue, applies mobile UX tweaks in the document detail view, fixes custom fields dropdown text size, and moves the document list preview button into its own column to improve layout.
- Save-view and form behaviour fixes: preserves the “save view” name on save+close actions and adds explicit button types to zoom controls to avoid accidental form submissions; several small UI and typing bugs were also addressed.
- Stability and backend fixes plus dependency housekeeping: ensures import bulk_edit tasks are picked up by Celery workers, makes index and llmindex initialization wait for Tesseract language installs to avoid race conditions, bumps filelock to 4.2.6 for ACL fixes, replaces the abandoned ngx-bootstrap-icons with an in-project icon solution, and applies multiple frontend, server and docker-compose dependency updates.
Upgrade notes
- No breaking changes are listed in the release notes; review the dependency bumps (Django and related server libs, frontend deps, pdfjs-dist, uuid, marked, Playwright and docker-compose images) on the GitHub release before upgrading and test in staging.
- If you need to roll back, redeploy the previous release tag from your repository or container registry and verify Tesseract language availability if your instance relies on OCR.
Share any feedback or issues you encounter after upgrading — the maintainers and community will appreciate real-world reports on mobile behaviour, OCR start-up and task processing.
