Prometheus v3.8.0 is out now. Users can benefit from the introduction of Native Histograms as a stable feature, enhancing data handling capabilities.

What’s in this release

  • Native Histograms are now a stable, but optional feature, activated via the scrape_native_histogram config setting.
  • Support for OAuth2 jwt-bearer grant-type and unified AWS service discovery for EC2, Lightsail, and ECS services.
  • Performance improvements in parsing variadic functions in PromQL and optimisations in UI responsiveness.

Upgrade notes

  • Ensure to activate Native Histograms by setting scrape_native_histogram to true in your configurations.
