Talos Linux v1.12.5 released on 09-03-2026

Talos Linux v1.12.5 is out now. It bumps core platform components — Linux 6.18.15, Kubernetes 1.35.2 and etcd 3.6.8 — and is built with Go 1.25.8.

What’s in this release
- Platform and tooling updates: Linux 6.18.15, Go 1.25.8, firmware update (20260221) and kernel patches for MLX5/TC offload and Cilium BPF verifier.
- Bug fixes and behaviour changes across the codebase — examples include correct nftables set range calculation, proper DHCP option for unicast DHCP renewals, handling raw encryption keys containing “\n”, and fixes for LinkConfigs patch deletion.
- Dependency and image updates: multiple library bumps (docker/cli, golang.org/x/*, gRPC, k8s libs) and published images such as ghcr.io/siderolabs/talos:v1.12.5 and registry.k8s.io components at v1.35.2.
