Talos Linux v1.12.6 released on 19-03-2026

Talos Linux v1.12.6 is out now. It brings Linux 6.18.18, updated container images (including Kubernetes components at v1.35.2, etcd v3.6.8 and CoreDNS v1.13.2) and a set of platform and packaging fixes that improve stability and OpenNebula networking.
Binaries are published for testing; try them and report issues on the project’s GitHub issue tracker or read the full release notes on the GitHub release page.
What’s in this release
- Platform and tooling updates: built with Go 1.25.8, runc 1.3.5 and Linux 6.18.18; updated images including kube-apiserver/controller/scheduler/proxy at v1.35.2, etсd v3.6.8 and CoreDNS v1.13.2.
- OpenNebula (machined) feature additions: ONEGATE proxy route, deterministic interface iteration, USERDATA legacy fallback, IPv6 support (ETH*_IP6_METHOD and alias addresses), per-interface helpers and metrics, merged DNS handling and static routes via ETH*_ROUTES.
- Bug fixes and dependency bumps: fixes for image cache encryption config, a panic in hardware.SystemInfoController, dmesg timestamp handling and stale volume reads; internal libs updated (go-blockdevice, go-cmd, go-kmsg) and several dependencies bumped (notable bumps include google/go-containerregistry v0.20.7 and google.golang.org/grpc v1.79.3).
